BTB GETS HER OBE FROM QEII Best-selling novelist, Barbara Taylor Bradford was awarded her OBE (The Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II on October 10, 2007. The official Investiture took place at Buckingham Palace in London. This award, which was announced in June, was on the Queen's Birthday Honors List. It recognizes Mrs. Bradford for her services to Literature. Her husband, Robert Bradford accompanied her to the Investiture. Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds, Yorkshire and started her professional writing career on the Yorkshire Evening Post. She is the author of twenty-two international bestsellers. Her twenty-third novel, The Heir will be published by St. Martin's Press on October 30th in North America. Over (81) eighty one-million copies of her books have been sold worldwide in 90 countries and over 40 languages. "I am thrilled and excited, as well as very honored to receive the OBE from the Queen," says Mrs. Bradford. Dallas Celebrates Barbara Taylor Bradford On November 12th and 13th, 2007, the city of Dallas celebrated Barbara and her novel The Heir at two unique events: 1) A Texas Style BBQ at the Lupton Cattle Ranch. At this event, Barbara was named an honorary member of the world famous Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader squad. Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert proclaimed this day as "Barbara Taylor Bradford Day" in Dallas.

Barbara Honored by Siena College On Sunday, May 22, Barbara addressed the graduating students of Siena College in upstate NY during commencement ceremonies. She was also the recipient of an honorary Doctorate of Letters degree as part of the program. Siena College chose Barbara for this prestigious recognition, calling her "The Grande Dame of Modern Women's Literature." This was Barbara's 4th honorary degree to date.

A SECRET AFFAIR FINALLY RELEASED ON VIDEO/DVD

Just in time for the holiday season, Barbara's most popular TV movie is at long last being released on video/DVD. Back in 1999, A Secret Affair aired on CBS in the US and drew a higher rating than the World Series of baseball. Now Good Times Entertainment is releasing the film for the first time since that original broadcast. Starring Janine Turner (Northern Exposure), and set in the heart of Venice, this beloved film can finally be seen again by fans in the US and Canada. The video/DVD comes out on November 25th. Barbara attended the ceremonies on the Island during the Tynwald Holiday Weekend where she was the guest of honor in a series of events including the unveiling of her new postage stamp. The primary highlight took place on July 7th where Barbara was invited to join Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in a series of public events, including a march in the royal procession for the Tynwald ceremonies. The stamp sheet features the cover of Barbara's brand new novel, Emma's Secret, which includes scenes that take place on the Island. A microscopic excerpt from the new book is imprinted at the bottom of the sheet and can be viewed through a magnified glass. April 24, 2003: Worldwide Bestselling Author Barbara Taylor Bradford accepts her induction tonight into the Writers Hall of Fame of America in Springfield Missouri. The award presentation is made Hall of Fame President Robert Stockdale. Since 1979, Bradford has been the world's bestselling women's author. She joins past Hall of Fame inductees, including Ernest Hemingway, Robert Frost, Dr. Suess and Mark Twain. The hall opened in 1994.
