On Thursday, April 15th, Barbara was the guest of honor at the Brandeis University Author & Celebrity Award Day Luncheon in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In addition to her appearance, Barbara will also be honored with a special inscription in the LEARNED RESEARCH JOURNALS at the Brandeis University Library in Boston, MA.

This week, BTB spoke to and entertained in excess of 2000 fans and readers in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tucson Arizona, presenting her latest bestselling novel, Breaking The Rules.

At a major luncheon to support the Arizona Kidney Foundation, Barbara spoke to over 1,200 attendees after being introduced by CNN's Larry King. This stellar event was held at the Biltmore Resort. Other special guests included Valerie Bertinelli and Phil Donahue (pictured above). Dozens had to be turned away from this sold-out gala.

Earlier in the week, Barbara was the guest of honor at a pair of events for Brandeis University alumni in Scottsdale and Tucson. Both sold-out events were attended by approximately 1000 enthusiastic women.

Upon departing for New York, Barbara told press reps that, "while tiring, this Arizona trip was one of the most rewarding I have participated in. The Kidney Foundation's work and research is vitally important."

Barbara spent many hours signing books to her fans and got to personally thank them for their loyalty.

The Hon. Rick Perry, Governor of Texas has just issued a proclamation making Barbara Taylor Bradford a citizen of the state of Texas. The proclamation was made at a ceremony in the presence of former First Lady Barbara Bush and other dignitaries in Houston, while Barbara attended a fundraiser forTaping For The Blind.

The event was followed the next day by a sold-out charity luncheon with over 500 guests attending, sponsored by the Baylor College of Medicine. Barbara was honored on the 30th anniversary of  A Woman of Substance and the launch of her new bestselling novel, Breaking The Rules.

BTB IS THE BELLE OF THE BALL OF THE ROSES 2008 On April 26th, Barbara was honored by the St. George's Society of NY at their annual "English Ball Of The Roses." The event, which also honored AIG President and CEO Martin Sullivan was held at Manhattan's Rainbow Room. BTB was presented with her medal of honor by legendary English actor/singer/songwriter Jim Dale (Pushing Up Daisies, Carry On Films, Harry Potter Audio Narrator). BTB GETS HER OBE FROM QEII Best-selling novelist, Barbara Taylor Bradford was awarded her OBE (The Order of the British Empire) by Queen Elizabeth II on October 10, 2007. The official Investiture took place at Buckingham Palace in London. This award, which was announced in June, was on the Queen's Birthday Honors List. It recognizes Mrs. Bradford for her services to Literature. Her husband, Robert Bradford accompanied her to the Investiture. Barbara Taylor Bradford was born in Leeds, Yorkshire and started her professional writing career on the Yorkshire Evening Post. She is the author of twenty-two international bestsellers. Her twenty-third novel, The Heir will be published by St. Martin's Press on October 30th in North America. Over (81) eighty one-million copies of her books have been sold worldwide in 90 countries and over 40 languages. "I am thrilled and excited, as well as very honored to receive the OBE from the Queen," says Mrs. Bradford. Barbara was in the UK to accept THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from The Variety Club of Great Britain on December 8th at a gala luncheon in Leeds. The sold-out luncheon was attended by a record crowd of business leaders and many of Barbara's loyal readers. Barbara is pleased and honored to accept this award, as she is deeply committed to a host of charitable works for children the world over.

On September 28th in London, Barbara was the guest of honor at the brand new Bond Street location for Moussaieff Jewelers. The event also celebrated the UK release of Barbara's The Ravenscar Dynasty. A giant 40 foot poster of Barbara was hung over Bond Street to greet the arriving guests, including the guest of honor and an assortment of British celebrities and luminaries.

BTB on the Cover of Publisher's Weekly In celebration of her newest hardcover novel, Just Rewards, Barbara is featured on the cover of the December 12th edition of Publishers Weekly.

In North America, St. Martin's Press will be reissuing five classic paperback titles from Barbara's past. The original Emma Harte Trilogy (A Woman of Substance, Hold The Dream and To Be The Best) has been given a makeover, as have early favorites Voice of the Heart and Act of Will. A Woman of Substance hit the stores on August 30th. The other four titles will be available everywhere starting October 4th to coincide with the paperback debut of Unexpected Blessings.
