What's New with Barbara Taylor Bradford

New in Paperback

Where You BelongThis past spring my latest book WHERE YOU BELONG was published in hardcover by Doubleday in the US and HarperCollins in the UK. Now the paperback edition of this suspenseful and romantic adventure has been released in paperback by Dell in the US. It comes out in the spring of 2001 in the UK. VAL DENNING is the protagonist, a photojournalist who loves her job covering wars and disasters with her colleagues JAKE NEWBERG and TONY HAMPTON. It starts in an ambush in Kosovo and moves from there to Paris, the south of France, New York, London, Yorkshire, Mexico and back to Kosovo. Fans tell me they couldn't put it down, and some have even asked me to write a sequel, so they can read more about the characters they came to love so much.

Currently in preproduction: WHERE YOU BELONG

This year's hardcover bestseller is being scripted in Hollywood. It will be a two-hour Movie of the Week for the CBS Network, who have the BTB franchise for television films. No stars have been selected yet, but casting could be a fun game for amateur casting directors. Who would YOU like to see play VAL DENNING, JAKE NEWBERG and TONY HAMPTON? Why not send us your ideas by e-mail?

Fans write to ask ask about my new book

I guarantee you'll find it a real page-turner. The book is entitled THE TRIUMPH OF KATIE BYRNE, and naturally, since she's in the title, Katie Byrne is the protagonist, or if you like, the leading lady. I use that term since Katie is a young actress at the beginning of the book, with stars in her eyes and dreams of Broadway. What happens to Katie after the murder is what the book is about. It's fascinating, suspenseful and full of surprises. Doubleday has published the hardcover in March 2001.

A few months ago, a publisher asked me to write a foreword
to a book they were about to republish...

Forever AmberThis book is FOREVER AMBER, and it was first published in 1944. The author Kathleen Winsor became an overnight "star", catapulted to instant fame. And the book was a sensation, selling 100,000 copies in the first week. I reread it and found it hard to put down, and I was happy to write the foreword to this extraordinary novel, one of the best researched pieces of fiction I've ever read. The book is being released by CHICAGO REVIEW PRESS. It is available in some stores and online at Booksense.com and Barnes&Noble.com now, but the official publication date is September, 2000. I highly recommend it.

A New Video

I've never met anyone who hasn't loved the movies which my husband makes of my books. "Robert Bradford always does a classy job," is what the reviewers say. Now ACORN MEDIA, the video company who released A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE and HOLD THE DREAM in 2000, is now selling the video of TO BE THE BEST. This film is the sequel to the sequel, actually the third book in the trilogy which began with A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE. TO BE THE BEST has a great galaxy of stars... LINDSAY WAGNER, ANTHONY HOPKINS, STEPHANIE BEECHAM, CHRISTOPHER CAZENOVE and many more, and it was shot in Yorkshire, London, the south of France, Hong Kong and New York. It's an exciting romantic adventure with lots of action and suspense and I know you'll enjoy watching it as much as I did.
